***As of August 2015, I am no longer able to operate my business due to moving to a new location which does not allow business activities to take place on the property. Please see the blog post on this topic from October 2015 for more information***
Under the Michigan Cottage Food Law (MCFL), I am required to take orders either in person or over the phone. Please feel free to e-mail me with questions or to initiate an order, but the actual order must be taken over the phone or in person. Payment and delivery must also be made face-to-face. I am not allowed to ship any baked goods through the USPS or other shipping services.
Once your order is placed, I will generate an estimated price for the cost of the materials, packaging, and labor. If you agree to the estimated price, I’ll proceed with your order after I receive a payment of half the estimated price four (4) days prior to the scheduled delivery date. The remaining balance must be paid in full upon delivery. I accept personal checks, written to Laurel Robillard or Creative Cakes by Laurel, and cash. I must unfortunately decline payment via credit or debit cards.
If you need to cancel your order, please notify me within four (4) days of the scheduled delivery date; a refund will be issued immediately so long as the cancellation occurred within four (4) days of the scheduled delivery. Please notify me of any changes to your order within the four (4) day window as well.
Four (4) days constitutes the following example: If a cake is scheduled to be delivered on Friday, April 24 at 12pm, then one-half payment or notification of cancellation must be received by Tuesday, April 21 at 12pm. Thank you for your understanding!
